Synergy is an interaction or cooperation giving rise to a whole that is greater than the sum of it's parts. It is the togetherness of a group of people to achieve a set goal, which oftentimes the results is greater than the sum of their individual strengths.
In the context of organizational behavior, synergy is the ability of a group to outperform even it's best individual member. In technical context, it's a collection of different elements working together to produce results that can't be obtained by any of the elements alone. Synergy can be compared to the human body. Though the different parts have their own importance, the body can't function well if these parts aren't in unity. "There's unity in diversity", they say.
Synergy can be applied in basically every aspect of life. In business, team members or companies come together, pick a goal and work toward achieving it, to produce results far greater than if each person were working towards it individually. In relationships and families, though each person has his/her own strength, if there's no ultimate goal to help foster togetherness, they tend to fall apart.
Spiritually, synergy is also important. For salvation, there need be an agreement between two bodies, the divine and the human. The divine being (God) of course is always ready, but the human being has to acknowledge the fact that togetherness brings greater blessings.
However, we can't look at Synergy without talking about Individualism. In individualism, members can achieve a set goal separately, without needing to cooperate. But, what differs Synergy from Individualism is Cohesion and Purpose. Members may have potentials, but if there's no purpose which drives them to come together, it will be a waste. If there's no togetherness, conflicts arise, leading to a falling apart of the group.
In all, synergy is great. But when there's no cohesion among members, there's no achievement. Remember, potential without purpose is as good as useless. God loves us, and wants us to follow peace with all men, to avoid any form of conflict.
