Gratitude

An attitude that's so great but not possessed my many is gratitude. It is the quality of being grateful and thankful for having received something. Unfortunately, many people are not grateful, and they don't even think about it.

You slept throughout the night, unconscious of yourself and your surroundings, but you were sure you'll wake up this morning, and you woke up. That's great. But when you woke up, you didn't even bother saying "Thank you" to the One that gives and takes life. Or are you saying it's by your might? Nay, it's by God.

Things are hard, fine. But somehow, you see what to eat, even if it's once a day, and you didn't bother thinking about who did it? It's God, 'cause He loves you. You're at your lowest,somebody suddenly calls you to "send aza", and when you get the money, you're so grateful that you can even roll on the floor for the person, but do you know that God brought the person because He doesn't want to see His children suffer?

"My parents have money! My uncles and aunts are rich! Why should I suffer? They'll give me anything I want." Oh come on! If God wants to wipe the riches and money from them, you'll be the poorest of all. Be grateful to God that they have what it takes to feed, fend for you and make your life better.

You see little children, they're the most grateful of all humans. Even if it's a sweet you give a child, he will be over the moon. You know why? He believes that after that one, there'll be another, maybe bigger, and of course there'll be. That's why we're commanded by Jesus to be like the little children, grateful over everything.

When you look at nature, don't you think it's great to thank God too? You look at the birds chirping flying here and there, but unless someone kills them, they don't die. They have food to eat. Even the other animals, which you eat, they survive till you kill them. You look at the plants, so green, full of nature. The flowers, natural and different colours, but calm you down at the mere sight of them. The rain falling in due season, the sun shining bro in the sky, all God's work of love.

Now, it's not only when things is going well that you give thanks. Even when it's like the end of the world is here, you've been through thick and thin, you've suffered so much trials and tribulations; give thanks. It's only a phase, it will pass. "In everything, give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you" (1 Thessalonians 5 vs 18). Don't forget, prayers move mountains but praises move the Hand of God.
